RFOptic‘s high-frequency Altimeter Optical Delay Line (ALT ODL) provides a high-performance solution for testing and calibration of radar altimeter systems. The Altimeter RADAR Test solution is offered in a progressive configuration where a series of fiber delay segments can be added in ascending sequence to deliver a wide range of highly accurate height or range simulation. It offers very high accuracy, better than 0.3ft (10cm) in the smallest altitude segments, those shorter than 6ft and less than 1% for the higher altitude segments. The maximum altitude can reach 100,000 feet or 30 km in one enclosure. It can be configured to emulate a single altitude or more than 4,096 altitude steps (12 bits) with a minimum step of 0.5ft (15cm).
