The Ultra series of RFoF Transmitters & Receivers operates from 100MHz – 12GHz and 100MHz – 18GHz. The RFoF ULTRA modules share the small dimensions of the RFoF Programmable Series and can be installed in 2U high-density subsystems, accommodating up to 40 independent transmitters / receivers or 20 half bidirectional terminals. It has also lower weight and less power consumption.
Analog RF over Fiber modules convert RF signals to optical signals and back. One unit has an optical transmitter which converts the signal from RF to Optical, and a second receiver unit converts the signal from Optical to RF. The optical transmitter is connected to the optical receiver by a single mode optical fiber provided by the customer.
Frequency range of a few KHz up to and including 18GHz with good flatness and phase noise.
Applications include remote antenna, satcom, telemetry, Electronic Warfare (EW), radar, and Optical Delay Line (ODL).
